Robert Huck

Community Service Chair, Robert Huck

Bob joined Rotary in 2011 where he currently serves on the Board as the Community Service Director, is a Paul Harris Fellow, and enjoys participating in numerous Rotary activities. Bob was born in Grand Junction, Colorado and grew up there. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1970 with degrees in Psychology and Business.


He began his career in the grocery business, that actually began while he was in high school, at a locally owned chain called City Market, later bought by the Kroger Grocery. After college, Bob worked his way up through store management, merchandising, and operations. He transferred to Fry’s Food Stores, also Kroger owned, in the Bay Area in 1985 as Vice President of Operations, and just four years later Fry’s was sold to Save Mart Supermarkets based in Modesto.


Bob spent the next 21 years as Director of Operations before retirement in 2010. He is currently an active member of SIRS, a social retirement organization, enjoys playing golf three times a week, and plays in two Bocce Leagues, and enjoys gardening. He and Aleta were married in 1971, have a daughter and two sons, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Bob and Aleta have lived in Clayton since 1985.
