Consider yourself invited. Just show up. We meet each Thursday morning at 7 am for breakfast at Oakhurst Country Club, 1001 Peacock Creak Drive, Clayton.
For the most part, our current membership lives in Clayton and Concord, yet about a third of our members live in Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Alamo, Pittsburg, etc. There is a reason for our membership's broad reach. It is us ... our shared feelings.
Each Rotary club reflects a certain attitude. As such, groups tend to attract like kind. It is this authors observation, having been in this club for over 15 years, that our kind are fun and active. We have fun. We do stuff. Yet at one time, each one of us did not know about Rotary, let alone this club. Each one of us came to this particular club on an invite by a current member, noted the fit and stayed.
Therefore, the best way to know if this club is right for you, out of the other 65 Rotary clubs in our district (5160), is to visit us a few times. Feel our energy and attitude. Get to know some of the members and let them get to know you.
At the very least, you will have a nice breakfast on us, have some laughs, maybe learn something and leave happy ... a jump-start to the rest of your week. And if you wish, come back a few times. The rest is up to you. If you wish to join, simply ask one of our members if they will sponsor you. Until you ask, nothing will happen. So relax and come visit your local Rotary club.
The attached information will introduce you to Rotary and provide an application to our club should you wish to consider joining us. If you have any questions or concerns, what-so-ever, please email our secretary, Fred Nelson.
